Under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the New Jersey Family Leave Act (NJFLA) employers must provide a covered employee with up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave in the event of illness, pregnancy, adoption or the need to care for a seriously ill family member.
