Kingston Workplace Bullying Lawyer

When most people hear about bullying, they think of schools, recess and children. However, bullying can continue into adulthood and take place in a wide range of situations, including the workplace.

Just like in the schoolyard, an aggressive co-worker may target an employee, making jokes, derogatory comments and other demeaning behavior. This harassment can cause serious emotional harm and negatively affect the victim's career.

At Hanan M. Isaacs, P.C., our Kingston workplace bullying attorneys take bullying seriously. Since 1981, our firm has provided strong advocacy for victims of workplace discrimination and harassment in New Jersey. We will work closely with you to help you understand your options and, when possible, seek compensation for your losses through a discrimination claim.

Call 866-959-3786 or send us an e-mail to arrange for a consultation about your employee bullying case.

Bullying and Discrimination

Federal law protects employees from discrimination based on race, age, gender, sexual orientation, national origin and disability. New Jersey's Law Against Discrimination (LAD) takes these protections even further to include employees in same-sex relationships and transgender employees. These groups that are protected under state and federal laws are known as "protected classes." If you are a member of one of these protected classes and the bullying is directed at you because of this, you may have a discrimination claim against your employer.

But, what if you fall outside one of the protected classes? You still have options. Your employer has an obligation to prevent and prohibit employee bullying and harassment. In situations where it threatens your safety, we may be able to pursue a claim under the relevant safety regulations such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. In some cases, we have helped clients seek workers' compensation for the emotional and physical harm caused by bullying. We will explore every available avenue to help you obtain a safe and comfortable work environment, free from harassment and hostility.
