HANAN ISAACS: Compassionate counsel, tough advocacy, that's our motto. That's what we hold out to ourselves as a benchmark as well as to our clients and our prospective clients.

HANAN ISAACS: We serve our clients as coaches in their own negotiations. We are also advocates in civil and criminal litigation, principally in employment law and family law matters.

HANAN ISAACS: We also serve as advisers. We ask our clients to be responsible for what brought them to our firm in the first place. We also ask them to act as a full-blooded team member along with us to solve their problem. When clients understand that that is the opportunity we present, many of them become very interested and excited about doing work with our firm.

HANAN ISAACS: When I first started as a trial lawyer in 1979, I thought the goal was to succeed, to be the knight in shining armor with my lance on a horse. And what I found out is it's not about that at all; it's really about working with your client and doing what needs to be done, whatever it is, to get them through their problem.
