New Jersey Mediation Lawyer
Resolving disputes through litigation can be costly, both from a financial and an emotional perspective. Alternatively, mediation can provide a cost-effective solution to a wide range of legal matters. It offers an open forum for you to communicate your goals and negotiate a successful resolution to your legal matter.
At Hanan M. Isaacs, P.C., our New Jersey mediation attorneys were some of the earliest proponents of mediation in the area of divorce. We can represent you in mediation and act as your advocate throughout the process of resolving your divorce, family issues, employment matter or other civil dispute.
Alternatively, attorney Hanan Isaacs can also act as a mediator for your legal dispute. Attorney Hanan Isaacs has served as a mediator in family and civil matters for more than 30 years. He is a mediation trainer for the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators and the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE). In this capacity, he has trained hundreds of lawyers and professionals in mediation.

How Does Mediation Work?
In mediation, the parties choose a mediator to guide them through the mediation process. This mediator acts as a neutral third party and assists the parties in reaching an agreement. The parties can each have their own attorney represent them. However, the mediator must remain neutral and cannot act as both an attorney and as a mediator on the same case. If our attorneys represent you in a case, we can refer you to a mediator to act as a trained neutral during the process.
Benefits of Mediation
There are many benefits to pursuing an agreement through mediation. Not only is mediation less costly and often faster than a trial, it also affords the parties with a level of privacy. Mediation is not public, and no public record of the discussions needs to be filed.
Additionally, mediation can foster open communication between the parties in the future. This can be particularly beneficial in family situations involving divorce, child custody and child support. Taking the time to work through your differences now can save you from disputes down the road and reduce the strain on your family.
Since 1981, our lawyers have represented countless clients in mediation in New Jersey. We are dedicated to helping our clients achieve successful results and to avoid disputes and conflicts down the road. If you are unable to reach an agreement in mediation, we can help you weigh your options. We can help you evaluate the risks and benefits of using other forms of alternative dispute resolution such as arbitration or litigation.
